Kinaura partnered with the WHO Global Coordinating Mechanism on NCDs (GCM/NCDs) to strengthen its strategic foundation and operational effectiveness as a global multisectoral platform. Working closely with the GCM/NCDs team, Kinaura supported the development of a robust strategic plan anchored by a refined Theory of Change, alongside a results and accountability framework and a detailed work plan with clear performance indicators. This work was designed to ensure the Mechanism could fully leverage its unique mandate within WHO and the broader NCD ecosystem.
Kinaura’s approach emphasized inclusivity, clarity, and practicality. We worked with the GCM/NCDs Secretariat to revisit and reestablish core competencies, clarify strategic priorities, and align ambitions across a diverse set of stakeholders—including WHO Member States, UN agencies, intergovernmental organizations, civil society, and private-sector actors. Through structured analysis and facilitated dialogue, Kinaura also assessed what would be required to develop effective Engagement and Resource Mobilization Strategies, identifying pathways to strengthen participation, coordination, and sustainability.
By combining multisectoral facilitation with hands-on strategic design, Kinaura helped equip the GCM/NCDs with tools and frameworks that support clearer accountability, more focused action, and more effective use of its convening power—strengthening its ability to advance coordinated global responses to noncommunicable diseases.
