Kinaura was engaged to work with the Gates Foundation to develop and internal communications strategy and materials. The goal of this work was to sensitize key stakeholders within the Foundation to the body of work, increase understanding and acceptance of the role of these tools in driving inclusive agricultural transformation (IAT), and build towards a shared plan to engage governments to sustain use of these tools for strategic decision-making.
Kinaura completed over a dozen interviews with key stakeholders and analyzed opportunities and barriers to engagement, including current perceptions of the tools and audience motivators. Using these findings, an internal communications plan was developed to guide the project team’s approach and activities when engaging with Foundation stakeholders.
We also developed a suite of materials to support internal engagement, including a case study of the IAT tools’ impact in Tanzania; a slide deck and series of infographics; and messaging / talking points. These materials were used to support internal communications and can easily be adapted for country engagement opportunities.
