Since 2022, Kinaura Partners has supported the Gates Foundation’s Agriculture Development Program Advocacy and Communication team to design, launch, and implement a grantee network focused on elevating climate adaptation in national policy processes and within the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). At the outset, Kinaura worked closely with foundation staff and grantee partners to clarify the network’s purpose, strategic value, and theory of influence—ensuring it responded to both advocacy priorities and the realities grantees face engaging in complex global climate processes.
Kinaura provided integrated strategy and execution support to help the network move from concept to coordinated action. This included designing and facilitating annual convenings to build alignment and shared understanding, structuring thematic working groups around priority policy moments, and supporting the development of joint advocacy outputs. Through this collaborative process, the network produced coordinated submissions to the Subnational Climate Fund and contributed inputs to the UAE–Belém Work Program, strengthening the visibility of adaptation priorities grounded in country and subnational experience. By pairing thoughtful network design with hands-on coordination, Kinaura helped create a durable platform that enables grantees to engage more effectively, amplify collective messages, and influence climate adaptation policy across national and UNFCCC fora.
