As a senior engagement lead at Kinaura Partners, Sue brings proven excellence in strategic planning, execution, and oversight. She is known for her strong analytical, communication, and writing skills, and for her ability to guide teams through policy, advocacy, and communications challenges with clarity and precision. A trained journalist, she excels at synthesizing complex information and shaping compelling, evidence‑based narratives that support decision‑making and influence action.
Sue has supported a broad range of policy, advocacy, and communications teams at the Gates Foundation and has led projects for partners including Marie Stopes International, PATH, and the World Wildlife Fund. She has more than 20 years of experience in global health, with a focus on sexual and reproductive health and rights, and deep expertise in HIV and family planning. Her work consistently bridges strategy and delivery, helping organizations advance impact across diverse country contexts.
Previously, Sue served in a variety of roles around the world. She coordinated technical support for primary health center service delivery in Mozambique for Absolute Return for Kids (ARK) and developed and implemented a global NGO accountability and good‑practice initiative for the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC). She began her career as a health reporter in South Africa, where she covered the HIV epidemic and its social, political, and health implications.
Sue holds a master’s degree in international relations from the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa and a BS in journalism from Ohio University. She has worked across multiple African countries and lived in South Africa and Mozambique. She currently resides in Argentina.
Outside of work, Sue can be found hiking in the mountains or working as a birth doula.
