As a consultant at Kinaura Partners, Lightness Charles Mlowola specializes in public health and engagement, supporting strategy development, coordination, and partnership building across global health initiatives. Her current work focuses on advancing Gates Foundation–funded efforts in maternal, newborn, and child health (MNCH) in Tanzania, helping strengthen locally-led engagement, improve coordination, and enhance accountability across the health system.

Previously, Lightness supported civil society and youth engagement within the Global Financing Facility (GFF), where she strengthened coordination and collective advocacy to expand meaningful participation in global health financing processes.

Lightness has held key leadership and technical roles in Tanzania, including serving as policy advocacy and monitoring manager at Health Promotion Tanzania and as a policy and advocacy officer on a USAID‑funded RMNCAH project. Across these roles, she strengthened civil society engagement, fostered multi‑stakeholder collaboration, and advanced evidence‑based advocacy for MNCH, nutrition, and primary health care. She is skilled in designing and guiding collaborative processes that elevate local voices and support meaningful participation in policy and decision‑making spaces.

Lightness holds an MPH from the University of Dar es Salaam and a BA in sociology from St. Augustine University, Tanzania. She is based in Dar es Salaam.

Outside of work, Lightness enjoys spending time with family, evenings with friends, watching documentaries, reading, and journaling.
