As a senior consultant at Kinaura Partners, Katherine works delivering strategic guidance and insights to partners such as Pivotal Ventures. She brings expertise in philanthropic strategy, collaborative and network design, stakeholder engagement, and the development and implementation of grantmaking initiatives.
Katherine has more than 15 years of experience as a philanthropic strategist and community builder, working across foundations, family offices, corporations, and nonprofits on practical strategies, trusted partnerships, and coordinated action. She is motivated by the belief that philanthropy is most effective when it combines rigorous analysis with the knowledge and leadership of the people closest to the issues.
Previously, Katherine held senior roles at Via Nova, formerly Arabella Advisors, where she led collaborative philanthropy and field-building initiatives, including The Collaborative Effect, and advised a family office on its perinatal health investment strategy. At ONE HUNDRED Agency, Katherine co-designed and launched the Global Solidarity Institute, a philanthropic platform that brought together ultra-high-net-worth philanthropists, family offices, corporations, and institutional funders around shared priorities. She also designed Comic Relief USA’s Leaders Lab, moving its major-donor engagement toward a model centered on experimentation, learning, and collaboration. Earlier in her career, Katherine worked with UN Women, the International Women’s Health Coalition, the Wits Reproductive Health and HIV Institute, and Columbia University, developing research, evaluation, and learning strategies focused on gender equality, women’s health and rights, public health, and locally led change.
Katherine holds an MPH from the University of Cape Town, an MS in Social Policy and Gender from the London School of Economics, and a BA from Mount Allison University. Originally from Alberta, Canada, she lives in New York City with her daughter and has lived and worked extensively in Southern Africa, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Outside of work, she is happiest with a good book (audiobooks absolutely count), a long hike, a dinner that turns into hours around the table, or exploring New York City’s arts, culture and dining scene.
