As a consultant at Kinaura Partners, Kate partners with civic, philanthropic, and advocacy organizations to develop strategy, craft compelling narratives, and build movements that drive social change. She brings deep expertise in storytelling, public engagement, and movement‑building, with a particular focus on humanizing contentious issues and inspiring collective action through research‑informed messaging and strategic communications.
At Kinaura, Kate has supported Pivotal Ventures on public affairs, political engagement, policy, and advocacy initiatives. She has trained and worked with movement‑builders and campaigners across Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, and the Middle East, with partners from more than 40 countries. As both a consultant and researcher, she has guided strategy and advocacy efforts across a wide range of issue areas, including reproductive freedom, clean energy, gun violence prevention, education reform, public health, and international conflict resolution. Prior to founding Slow Clap, she served as senior advisor and chief engagement officer at Avalanche Insights and as senior vice president at 270 Strategies.
Kate is also the co‑founder of Arena, an organization that convenes, trains, and supports the next generation of progressive political candidates and professionals. Since 2017, Arena has supported more than 600 candidates for congressional, state, and local office across all 50 US states and has trained over 9,350 campaigners through Arena Academy. More than 96,000 people have accessed campaign tools through the Arena Toolbox.
Kate began her career working on Barack Obama’s 2008 and 2012 presidential campaigns and has since advised the campaigns of leaders including Andy Kim, Cory Booker, Lina Hidalgo, and Lauren Underwood.
Kate lives in the Bay Area, where she spends as much time outdoors as possible and enjoys film, music, writing, travel, forest bathing, and pizza.
