As an engagement lead at Kinaura Partners, James builds transformative partnerships across the Immunization & Infectious Diseases and Innovation & Private Sector portfolios. Drawing on more than a decade of experience, he orchestrates complex collaborations and principal‑level engagements, connecting diverse stakeholders to advance global health and development priorities.
A trusted coalition builder and convener, James unites philanthropies, multilateral agencies, the private sector, civil society, and governments to drive impact. He currently leads strategy and coordination for the AI4D Funders Collaborative, a global initiative promoting inclusive and responsible AI across the Global South. James also works closely with the World Health Organization, elevating the visibility and influence of the Global Task Force on Cholera Control (GTFCC) and the Defeating Meningitis by 2030 secretariat. Known for delivering high‑profile advocacy moments, he has planned and executed events during the UN General Assembly, the World Health Assembly, COP, and other major global fora.
Before joining Kinaura, James was the assistant director of performance improvement at NYC Health + Hospitals, where he standardized clinical monitoring practices across the nation’s largest public hospital system. At Community Healthcare Network, he led HIV programs for transgender communities and established medical–legal partnerships to offer trauma‑informed care for survivors of human trafficking. James previously served in the Peace Corps in Ukraine, working with USAID and PEPFAR to strengthen HIV services for displaced Ukrainians, and he began his career at Global Health Strategies, supporting the Gates Foundation’s Grand Challenges program.
James is a DrPH candidate in social, behavioral, and population sciences at Tulane University. He holds an MPH in global health policy from the CUNY School of Public Health, an MA in politics from The New School for Social Research, and a BA in politics and literature from Eugene Lang College. A dual US-Italian citizen, James speaks five languages and resides in New York.
Outside of work, James enjoys traveling and exploring his interests, which include political theory, geography, brutalist and futurist architecture, and tennis.
