Kayode is a public health physician and currently the CEO/Managing Partner at Volte, who collaborates with Kinaura Partners on high-level client-facing engagements working with governments across diverse geographies on Global Health & Development Architecture, Immunization & Infectious Diseases and Women’s Health & Reproductive Rights. He has supported partners including Gavi, several UN agencies, Gates Foundation, World Bank, Resolve To Save Lives. Through this work, Kayode brings expertise with an extensive background in management consultant working across systems, data, human capital development, policy and research.
Kayode has 15+ years of deep expertise in translating international health frameworks into practical, scalable delivery models at national and subnational levels, particularly in resource-constrained settings. He combines systems thinking, policy advisory, and implementation strategy to strengthen institutional performance, health security, and service delivery. He brings over a decade of management consulting experience spanning immunization systems, global health security, disease surveillance, primary healthcare performance and resilience, civil registration and vital statistics (CRVS), climate adaptation, HIV, and broader health systems strengthening. His work focuses on aligning policy, financing, and operational systems to improve preparedness, equity, and program effectiveness. He is also recognized for developing the first sub-Saharan Africa tool for assessing health security capacity gaps in federated and subnational contexts, supporting more targeted outbreak preparedness and response.
Previously, Kayode served as a senior advisor to the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 in Nigeria. He also coordinated the global immunisation supply chain steering committee (iSC2) at UNICEF and Gavi, contributing to the development of the Gavi 5.0, 5.1 and 6.0 strategies. He is on the WHO global roster of Health Security Subject Matter Experts, responsible for supporting countries in evaluating health security core capabilities in line with the International Health Regulations. Kayode regularly contributes thought leadership through peer-reviewed articles, books, and opinion pieces that share public health implementation practices grounded in systems thinking in Africa and globally.
Kayode holds an MD from the University of Ibadan, MPH from Cardiff University, and a MSc from the University of Oxford. He has lived and worked in Nigeria, Copenhagen, Geneva, the United Kingdom, including working with government and donors across countries in East and West Africa. He currently resides in Abuja, Nigeria.
Outside of work, Kayode enjoys watching the English Premier League. He is a lifelong supporter of Arsenal Football Club. He loves to ride his bicycle – a habit he picked up while he lived in Copenhagen.
