As a deputy director at Kinaura Partners, Claire‑Helene (Claire) brings expertise in strategic alignment, stakeholder engagement, grantee support, and program and process management. Within Kinaura’s Global Health Institutions, Strategies & Partnerships (GHISP) team, she helps advance organizational priorities and supports partners in navigating the complexities of global health institutions.
With more than 15 years of experience in global health research and in designing, funding, and implementing programs across low‑ and middle‑income countries, Claire’s work centers on strengthening country‑led health systems to deliver and assess high‑quality services. She has depth in maternal, newborn, and child health (MNCH) and monitoring and evaluation. She supports key partners, including the Gates Foundation’s Global Health Agencies and Funds team, with a focus on multilateral development banks.
Prior to joining Kinaura, Claire served as a program officer at the Gates Foundation, where she managed portfolios related to MNCH measurement and metrics, global leadership, and vulnerable populations. She contributed to multiple expert working groups on MNCH metrics and previously worked with organizations implementing bilaterally funded health projects in francophone and southern Africa.
Claire holds an MPH in health behavior from the Gillings School of Global Public Health at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a BA in politics from Oberlin College. She has lived in Senegal, Zambia, and South Africa, and currently resides in Seattle, Washington. She speaks both English and French.
Outside of work, Claire enjoys outdoor running, photography, and learning new crafts.
