Angela Mutunga is a global health policy, advocacy and accountability strategist with more than 20 years of leadership across Africa, Asia, the Caribbean and global platforms. She has previously worked with Kinaura Partners, formerly Global Health Visions, leading development of the FP2030 Advocacy & Accountability Framework and the GFF Civil Society and Youth Advocacy Toolkit, and serving as one of three experts supporting the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation to translate Board-approved goals across program priorities into an advocacy implementation strategy.
Angela’s expertise spans locally led change, women’s and reproductive health, health systems and financing, policy, advocacy and accountability, strategic partnerships, coalition building, facilitation, coaching and capacity strengthening. Her perspective bridges global decision-making with the realities of implementation in countries receiving global health investments.
Angela was one of the inaugural global civil society representatives to the GFF Investors Group, helping establish structures for CSO and youth engagement, representation and accountability. At Jhpiego, where she served most recently as Director of Advocacy & Accountability for Global Programs, she led and supported advocacy, accountability and policy work across a 40+ country organization and strengthened locally led engagement across civil society and professional organizations.
Angela holds a BA in sociology and communication and has advanced professional studies in accounting and health economics and policy. Outside work, she loves forests – hugging and “conversing” with trees, and planting more of them.
