This report explores how accountability mechanisms can be strengthened by intentionally centering gender equity within global health and development programs. Engendering Accountability examines where existing systems fall short in addressing power, inclusion, and lived experience, and highlights practical approaches for embedding gender-responsive accountability across policy, financing, monitoring, and community engagement. Drawing on evidence and practitioner insights, the analysis offers donors, implementers, and policymakers concrete recommendations to move from rhetoric to results.
